Famous Houston Residents: ZZ Top

ZZ Top is a rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. The group members are Billy Gibbons (guitar, vocals), Dusty Hill (bass, vocals) and Frank Beard (drums).

One of the most recognizable bands ever due to their long beards. Gillette once offered them $1 million each to shave them off but they declined stating “we’re too ugly without ‘em”!

The still live in Houston and they’re still making music. One of Houston’s massive successes.

Famous Houston Residents: Michael DellMichael Saul Dell (born February 23, 1965, in Houston, Texas) is an American businessman and the founder and CEO of Dell, Inc.

Well, he’s living in Austin, TX now but he was born in Houston and he did attend Memorial High School. Memorial, close to River Oaks, is one of the exclusive neighborhoods in Houston Texas. Memorial Real Estate has always been in high demand.

Famous Houston Residents: Red AdairPaul Neal “Red” Adair (June 18, 1915 – August 7, 2004) was a renowned American oil field firefighter. He became world famous as an innovator in the highly specialized and extremely hazardous profession of extinguishing and capping blazing, erupting oil wells, both land-based and offshore.

Adair was born in Houston, Texas, and and lived in The Heights area of Houston.

Red Adair gained global fame in 1962, when he tackled a fire at a gas field in the Sahara nicknamed the Devil’s Cigarette Lighter, a 450-foot (137 m) pillar of flame.

In 1968 John Wayne made a move called Hellfighters based upon the feats of Adair during a 1962 Sahara Desert fire.
