Sugar Land Salutes America

Barbecues, baseball, beaches and, of course, fireworks …  such are the mainstays of July 4th for many! Really, who among us doesn’t eagerly anticipate the annual holiday celebrating our nation’s independence?

Picnics, parks, swimming and sparklers aside, though, sometimes it’s just a tad too easy to forget the actual meaning behind the parades; sometimes, in our anticipation of this (well deserved!) weekend, we forget the esteemed forefathers without whom our liberties would remain a reality.

City of Sugar Land officials want to ensure we always remember.

This year, Sugar Land’s 23rd annual Red, White, and Blue Fest will commemorate the anniversary of America’s declaration of independence from Great Britain.  Held in the heart of the city in beautiful Oyster Creek Park, the evening celebration will feature live entertainment, contests, and, of course, fireworks … tons and tons of fireworks!

So take a short break from the barbecue this year and head out south of Houston! Join this staunchly patriotic celebration in Sugar Land … one of America’s most staunchly patriotic cities!

When people locate to a new town, especially a suburb they always worry about the quality of Restaurants.  New residents play it safe and stick to the chains but in Katy there are some great restaurants that will impress even the toughest food critics.

Green Building Initiative Spruces Up Sugar Land

With the increasing emphasis on environmentally friendly products and services, it’s little wonder that the movement has extended to residential construction.  And these days, many of Sugar Land’s newest homes are customized to include such “green” features as water-saving plumbing and energy-efficient design.

So in an effort to promote environmentally-sound measures aimed at positively impacting our earth, The Greater Houston Builders Association has implemented a Green Building Initiative.  This voluntary initiative offers an eco- friendly alternative to local residential construction and is widely practiced by many of the area’s leading deluxe homebuilders.  Sugar Land, with its family atmosphere and miles of earth-friendly green spaces, provides the perfect backdrop for these progressive (and incredibly cost-effective!) home designs.

Great Financial News For Katy!

Katy Real Estate News - More Great Financial News for Katy

By Katy Real Estate Professional - Tim Sojka

I have recently found out about a new commercial project in our area.  The Simon Property Group is planning to build a 1,000,000 sq.ft. shopping mall on the north side of I-10 in between 99 and Mason.  This mall will include a Macy’s and Dillard’s.  This is the same company that just built the large outlet mall on 290 near Cypress Landing. .   This goes to show Katy is one of the fastest growing areas in Houston.  I have attached a link for a link for the new mall called the Grand.   http://www.simon.com/about_simon/development/on_the_horizon.aspx

Robert Charles Lesser and Company, a nationally respected independent real estate advisor just named Cinco Ranch and Seven Meadows as two of the Top Ten Master Planned Communities in the United States.

Katy was the only city with two communities finishing in the Top 10.  The Houston Area had two more master planned communities as well (the Woodlands and Sienna Plantation).

Make no mistake about it Katy is one of the hottest places in the country to live; great schools, great communities, low cost of living, and three major hospitals locating here in the next three years
